Do you have any medication at home you no longer use?
No medication should ever be thrown into domestic waste; this includes simple painkillers such as paracetamol, all inhalers and medicated creams.
Please return all unused, out of date medication and empty inhalers to any pharmacy so they can be disposed of safely. This prevents their chemicals from causing harm by leaching into the atmosphere, soil and waterways. It is harmful and dangerous to throw them into your household waste.
To reduce waste generated by the NHS, please only order the medication you need.
