The Final Stages....We're Nearly There
It’s hard to believe that 14 months ago I climbed Snowdon and started raising money for what was then just an idea, a hope that we could create something meaningful for our community.
And now, with Friday almost here, Legend on a Bench is becoming a reality.
This has been an incredibly personal project for me, and one that I am so proud to support and have been part of.
But I could never have done it alone.
Over the last 14 months, so many wonderful people and local businesses have stepped forward. There have been donations, fundraising, materials supplied, hours of people's time, skilled workmanship, incredible artwork, and plenty of good old-fashioned hard graft.
Some people have donated money. Some have donated materials. Some have given their skills and their time. Others have simply encouraged me, shared the project, or asked, "What can I do to help?"
Every single one of you has played a part.
This bench is about suicide prevention, but it's also about something very simple: giving someone a place to sit when life feels too much. A place to pause. A place to talk. A place to listen. A reminder that you are not alone and you matter.
On Friday, we finally get to unveil what we've all created together.
I genuinely can't thank everyone enough for getting behind this project and believing in what we were trying to achieve.
14 months. One Snowdon climb. One amazing community. And now, one very special bench.
