Brighton & Hove Sexual Health & Contraception Service (SHAC)

This service is not appropriate for requests for repeat prescriptions of the contraceptive pill, erectile dysfunction or cervical smear tests (except for HIV-positive women and those with exceptional vulnerability).

A free and confidential service providing sexual health screening and testing (including chlamydia screening and HIV testing) and advice on reversible contraception including emergency contraception (the ‘morning after pill’), health promotion and condom provision. Walk-in clinics and pre-booked appointments are available at 3 locations.

Please note, this service is not appropriate for Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for HIV, long-acting contraceptives such as the coil, long-term management of conditions such as HIV, liquid nitrogen treatment for warts, or cervical smear tests.

Sex, Worries and You (SWAY) Clinic

Drop-in clinics for young people under 25 years old residing in the City are offered throughout the week at different GP practices.

At Mile Oak Medical Centre the SWAY Drop-in Clinic is on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 4pm. You do not have to be a patient at the Practice to access this service - just ask at the reception desk during the above time.
