I've been working as a Social Prescriber with Age UK for the past two years. I've worked across Brighton, Hove and Horsham, which has given me lots of amazing experiences with people from all walks of life. I enjoy my role as it's an important opportunity to give patients time to explore any issues they are facing, free of judgement. The work that we do as social prescribers is all about empowering patients to make the right decisions for themselves and that they can finish support feeling more informed about what support is available to them.
I have a chronic health condition, which can make it difficult to stay active consistently; this has given me an understanding of how challenging staying fit/mobile can be for some patients. I enjoy a gentle walk, swim or yoga - it gives me a real boost (mentally and physically) when I've done what feels right for my body.
